Coaching Skills for Managers

Managers play a vital and protective role in creating a psychologically safe culture where everyone thrives. 1:1’s with team members are a central part of developing and maintaining trust and an opportunity for Managers to build rapport and truly understand the needs of their team.

However, without the skills and awareness, they can be tricky to navigate and leave both the manager and employee feeling unsatisfied, misunderstood or lead to unnecessary conflict.

Overview

Suitable for Managers

How do we meet this person’s needs alongside maintaining our own priorities? How can we have a personal as well as professional conversation? How can I show I care for this person’s mental health without getting wrapped up in a therapeutic conversation?

Bringing an understanding of how to create trust, and the role that body language plays in our communication is essential to effective 1-1 meetings.

In this 90 min training session we provide insight and practical strategies that will enable managers to structure 1-1s so that they are shorter, more effective and more enjoyable.

We also look at how to talk about mental health and diversity and inclusion in a supportive and professional way while maintaining clear boundaries.

The workshop also draws on the science of embodiment and how to use our body language to enable good communication.
