Sound Bath Meditation

 

Sound healing is an ancient meditation method which can enable participants to take a journey of deep relaxation, healing and self discovery.

Many of us experience stress and tension in our everyday lives, meaning that we spend too much time activating our sympathetic nervous system, our flight and fight response.  Therapeutic sound has profound effects on our parasympathetic nervous system giving ourselves the chance to rest, rejuvenate and ultimately heal.


Overview

 

Suitable for all staff

This 30 min session will take place in a resting pose laying on the floor with your eyes closed. We will begin with a brief introduction, followed by a breathing exercise, a short guided visualisation and sound bath.  

Acoustic therapies harness the power of a variety of instruments that feature natural spontaneous harmonics and overtones.  This isn’t composed rhythmic music in the conventional sense so as the dense layers build the mind has nothing to attach itself to so the process of letting go can begin.

We want you to be as comfortable as possible, so please bring a mat or something to lay on and wear comfortable clothes. If you have an eye mask and some cushioning for beneath your head (a rolled up scarf would suffice) then bring these along too.
