Grief in the Workplace

Grief comes in many forms, bereavement, divorce, diagnosis and workplace change – any major life change resulting in loss.

This means that within all organisations, grief affects all of us at some point, and so it is hugely important and beneficial that we understand how to talk about it and support each other.

Overview

Suitable for all staff

This session shares a toolkit of ways of not only surviving grief (in all its forms), but living well alongside it.

Delivered from a very personal perspective of what it is like to experience profound grief and learn to live well alongside it, the session covers:

  • The physical aspects of grief

  • Does time heal?

  • Understanding accumulative and anticipatory grief

  • Is closure possible or necessary in grief?

  • How teams can support each other with less fear around those difficult conversations

  • A toolkit for managing grief

Participants will leave the session feeling empowered and equipped with understanding and practical ways to support each other through times of loss.

This introductory group session can be offered alongside our 1:1 bereavement support, and we also offer a separate session designed for HR and Managers on how to support those experiencing grief and create organisational grief guidelines.
