Relieving Tech Stress with Face Yoga

With all the time we spend focusing on screens, tension in the eyes, jaw, neck and head is becoming an everyday occurrence for many and it’s not just performance that’s affected, it’s making it hard to sleep. We need accessible practical interventions to dial down tech stress, calm the nervous system and refresh the senses not just for productivity but for our health and wellbeing.

Overview

Suitable for all staff

This workshop teaches participants a sequence of face yoga practices that release the stress and tension created by working on screens.

We explore first the mechanisms by which face yoga works and its benefits. Participants are then guided through an experiential face yoga practice with exercises designed with specific purposes in mind – toolkits to overcome zoom fatigue, to release jaw tension, neck pain and headaches.

Face yoga not only reduces stress and boosts our ability to focus, it also helps us sleep at night. The inability to relax is one of the greatest barriers to sleep: this workshop empowers participants with calming and energising rituals that they can weave easily into their working day.
