Understanding & Managing Stress
The damage done by stress not only to our performance but also to all aspects of our health is now well recognised. We get irritable, tired, anxious, can’t think clearly, lack creativity and find it more difficult to work collaboratively, all of which impact performance, results and morale.
The unfortunate reality is that the pressures of life are here to stay so it is time to consider a different way to deal with the high levels of stress many of us experience. Based on latest research we will take a fresh look at stress and consider how we can not only alleviate it, but make it work for us rather than against us.
Overview
Suitable for all staff
This workshop will examine the science of stress, explain what happens in our brain and body and how that impacts our emotions, thoughts and behaviours. The long-term consequences will be considered and participants will have a chance to reflect on their current levels of stress as well as the key trigger points.
We will explore the importance of how we respond to stress and look at ways to modify these reactions so the negative impacts are minimised. Participants will leave the session with a new perspective on stress along with tangible ideas for how to transform stress into something positive and energising.
